Looking for a good, reliable gaming laptop for around $900-$1,100.

I've been searching around but I don't have a lot of experience with laptops. If you guys could recommend anything you've used I'd love you forever. These are my minimum requirements I'd like the laptop to meet -1368x768 screen resolution, directX11 card capable of running most games on high settings, and just overall durability (i'll be moving around a lot). I've had my eye on the Lenovo ideapad Y500 and Y580 for reference. Thanks a ton in advance, guys.

Get the Y500 for sure. It's a very nice machine. Make sure you get the one with the updgraded GT 750M graphics though.

No, but there is a 750M SLI option available though. It was slightly out of the price range you listed though so I didn't link it. A single 750M performs about the same or slightly better than a 660m. Two of them in SLI would be pretty insane performance for a laptop of this size. Or think about it in the Y400. More powerful than a lot of the huge and heavy "gaming" bricks on the market in something that weighs under 5 pounds.

Lenovo has really done something with the Y series.
