I have a dell inspiron N5110 (which i bought about 8 months ago) I recently bought a cheap cooling pad for it, it worked fine for a couple of days until one day i was connecting it to the USB port on the right side of my laptop -near the headphone and microphone jacks- when I heard the sound of a spark and the system restarted, of course I immediately removed it and shut down the computer but then I smelled smoke (molten plastic smell) coming from the side of this port.
I left the laptop for a while and then I checked if it still worked, the laptop started fine even the USB that produced the smoke worked (I tested it with a flash memory) I even started my wifi adapter to check and it worked the only thing that worries me is that there are three buttons near that USB port and they used to illuminate but they have stopped illuminating. what should I do?
P.S. the function of these three buttons are open windows mobility center the other opens dell support center and the last turns the screen off
