Hi, I have Win7 64bit and use Firefox and Google as my default search engine.
Somehow I got hijacked by "searchnu.com". This is the only search I can get now. Have been trying for quite a while to uninstall but unable to do it.
Searchnu.com is not listed in Add/Remove Programs. I have read that it also goes by "APN-LLc-Bandoo Media". None of those are listed in Add/Remove either. I have removed all history from Firefox and installed Google Chrome. Nothing seems to help.
Does anybody have any suggestions???

Go to firefox > addons > extensions, and look for anything that seems suspicious.

Also, I would download malwarebytes free and Microsoft Security Essentials and scan for viruses.

After that, do the following:
1) go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information and click on profile folder/show folder. a windows explorer window should open up - in there delete the file named chromeappsstore.sqlite.
2) then enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone - right-click and reset that entry to the default value.
3) restart firefox

Thank you for writing, DarkSable. Unfortunately, I didn't find "chromeappstore.sqlite" in my F.F. Profile.
In the meantime though, I got everything back to normal and Google is my default browser in Firefox.
I'm afraid, that "searchnu.com" is still lurking around somewhere since I haven't gone through any steps (that I know of) to remove it.
Have gone through the C-Drive's Program Folders and Windows Folder but haven't found anything related to it. Windows Search Feature has not come up with any results either. I don't know where else to look for it.....
Again, thank you for writing.
