I'm looking for something with:
-a dedicated graphics card
-an i5 or i7 processor
-less than 15 inches
-less than 6lbs
-no Apple products
-budget: less than $1500

Is there anything with all/most of those specs?

I found a few that I am interested in,
-lenovo thinkpad x1 carbon
-ASUS U31SD-DH31 Ultrabook
-lenovo thinkpad X1 129126U

Also, the perfect laptop for me would be the lenovo ideapad y580 BUT i prefer less than 15"....is there anything with the same specs as this one but with a smaller screen size?

lenovo thinkpad x1 carbon
-It's ok, but doesn't have a dedicated graphics card so if you wanted to play games on it, I'd pass on this one.

ASUS U31SD-DH31 Ultrabook
-Not a bad choice but the dedicated graphics card could be better and also not a fan of the Intel Core i3 if you will be gaming

lenovo thinkpad X1 129126U
-Nice to see the i5 but it does not have dedicated graphics.

Found a 14" ASUS laptop with a 660M (same as Y580) and an i7 CPU:
This is pretty much exactly what you are looking for!!!

Why no high performance in small, light packages?
If you have a fast CPU and/or GPU they need to be cooled which requires a fan and heat sync. Both the fan and heatsync take up space and add additional weight to a laptop. That is why the fastest laptops money can buy require lots of cooling and are heavy/big.
Ultrabooks are super thin and light generally they are also much slower than a full size laptop. Which means they are less than ultra and the name "ultrabook" is an oxymoron. Perhaps thinbook would make more sense.

Getting more for your money:
Generally the most commonly purchased laptop screen size is about 14" - 15" and because of that this screen size is mass produced and many times laptops that are bigger or smaller can have a higher price even when the specs are the same or similar.
