Hello everyone,

I've been building my computers for the last 18+ years but as a big desktop fanboy I never owned a laptop and thus I have never taken one apart.

Recently I got a laptop for my wife but I have a question - is it possible to upgrade the graphics card on this particular model and if it is possible is there anything special I need to know when I'm trying to take the laptop apart? (like little fiddly things etc. I need to keep an eye for etc.)

The laptop is an Acer V3-771G-53216G50BDCaii Model Number VA70.

If you Google the the model it gives the specifications of the updated version I guess so I'll list the specifications below just to be sure we are on the same page :)

CPU Intel i5-3210M
RAM 6 GB DDR3
GPU nVidia GT630M
Display 17.3" (1920x1080)

Thanks in advance

No you can't change the graphics card, I have the same one and you can only really upgrade the ram, hard drive, and DVD player. This is with most laptops because in order to make them so compact they need to integrate most of the components into the motherboard. However I do believe you can buy external graphics cards to use with USB 3, where and how much though I really don't know. But first I would recommend updating the driver from the Acer support website.
