connecting tv with 5.1 channel speakers

hello guys,

i have a toshiba ps20 led tv, philips dvp3608 dvd player and dsp30u speakers.

the dvd player does not play mkv files but my tv does via usb. so i want to play video files with 6 channel audio on my tv. but the tv only has digital audio out and my speakers only have rca(6 wire) input.

is there any way i can connect my tv to the speakers?? and will it play 6 channel audio if i play a movie on my tv via usb??

Do not see a way to do it. Even if your DVD player and TV had Digital out you most likely would not get 6 channel audio because most TV's only output 2 channel even though the Optical Digital Out.

Yeah i thought so... Is there any way i can play mkv files on the dvd player without having to convert them??? If not then is there any video converter that can convert the mkv file along with the 6 channel audio??
