Best $100 headphones? Not headset

Hello community and thanks in advance for all responses.

i know almost nuthing about sound but want to get the most out of my gaming so i figured id spend a lil money on some good headphones.

I have a soundblaster z and am wondering what to pair it with headphone wise for some good gaming.

right now i been told either sennheiser hd280's or Audio Technica ATH-A700X's

i think sennheiser a lil cheaper are the ATH's woth the extra 30$

The Senheiser HD25 have so far been by far the best headphones I've ever owned.

There isn't really a "best" set of headphones, audio is subjective.

Go with the open unless you want to get audio to yourself and not bother others.

Would the Sennheisers be just as good. They $30 cheaper thinkin ima go with them but is there a diff between those and the audio technicas?

I have not tried the Sennheiser HD 25's, only more expensive models from them, but I do know the AT ones are great for gaming.

Sorry I can't me much help regarding those specific ones. Should be fine for music though.
