Small ding on TV, now a single white pixel any suggestions?

I accidentally nicked the bottom right section of my 42 inch Vizio E3D420VX today with the end of a controller's USB cord and it has a single dead pixel and a scratch around that area. Everything else looks perfect. The blemish isn't noticeable unless you specifically look for it since it isn't right in the middle and is quite small.

The TV was about $420 brand new, which was great considering its features; 3D, Internet ready with both WIFI and ethernet, Apps, 120 HZ and full qwerty pad on back of remote. Should I try to repair it? Is there a repair that doesn't involve replacing the whole panel? Do they even sell panels for this model? If not, will a regular 42 inch Vizio replacement LCD work? It is a 3D passive TV so I know that there is like some special coating or something on it to make the 3D glasses work correctly. But, if I just wanted a scratch free TV and no 3D, will a different model screen work? Just curious.

I have searched around on google and came up with very little. There was one site that suggested vasiline, but that was for scratches not dead pixels. There was a video on youtube that played solid colors red, green and blue over and over very rapidly for like 30 minutes. That did nothing. I was wondering if there was any other things I could try, no matter how weird they may sound. As long as it isn't "buy a new set" or "throw a dumbell at it."

I appreciate any help.

Yeah, it sucks. I just think of it like the mole on Marilyn's face. Except it is white. And my TV isn't a hot blonde. :(
