Hi,
I'm using Dell Inspiron laptop. From last week I'm facing the problem that battery is not charging properly. Once I turned on the charger i can see the light glows in the charger connecting pin, but when I connected to the laptop, light blinks for few seconds and turned off and repeating the same.

So I need to replace the charger? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

First, what color(s) is/are the blinking light(s). I'm going to say that it is not a given that the Power Adapter is bad but it is a start. There are a few things you can try which may help to determine that. First try the adapter without the battery installed - if that works, then the battery is the issue. You can try moving the power plug where it plugs into the laptop, if it moves at all (other than standard in or out - don't try to force it to move, just wiggle it a bit) and/or the light turns solid when you try to move it, the issue is the power jack. There are a few other possible issues but see where gets you..

C12Friedman, that was not true for me and the battery was fine --

thenna, try this:

DELL (my computer: Vostro A860)
Plugged in but not charging -- SOLUTION

I tried all other solutions but only this worked.

1. UNPLUG the charger from the wall.

2. PLUG IN the CHARGER to the COMPUTER while the charger is still unplugged from the wall.
The purpose is to drain the charger (the green light on it should already be off).
Press the power button on the computer for extra assurance you've drained the charger.

3. PLUG IN the CHARGER to the WALL. The battery should immediately start charging.
