Hello,
I recently bought Sennheiser PC-360 and Xonar DX.
I found out that Xonar DX doesn't have headphone amplifier? I have Sony MDR-V700 headphones too, they have 24ohm impedance, and they sound somewhat better with DX than pc360. Do i get all out from my 360's with DX? Should i get headphone amplifier/ budget 130 euros. Or change my Xonar DX to Xonar essence STX, that would cost 100 euros more if i return DX back to store, if they accept .
I play mostly games with my PC.

Is there difference between sound card connections at back of card and front end connections. Which one i should prefer?

xonar dx does not have a headphone amplifier but it does have dolby headphones which tries to simulate surround sound on your headphones
if you are going to be using mostly your headphones then it would probably be a good idea to exchange the dx for a dg which has a headphone amplifier and dolby headphone

there is one more thing...
if you think there is nothing wrong with the quality of your sound then you should just stick with it
getting better hardware does result in greater quality in sound but the xonar dx already is a substantial upgrade from onboard sound

First thing i noticed over onboard realtek, no more strange annoying sounds when there shouldn't be any noice at all. Shame on me that i have tolerated such last 10 years :D . Silence is luxury. Any idea does DX have enough power to run 50ohm impedance headphones?
