5. How much battery life do you need? not important

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Low, maybe wow, haven't played it in years. Starcraft, Settlers of Catana. Maybe some flight simulators.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) watch movies, surf.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? not important

Not important. DVD would do.

I heard Asus is a reliable brand as opposed to say Dell.

Canada, but would rather pick it in US, if it's cheaper.

Was also looking at a tablet, but I guess laptop still seems more versatile for gaming(will just upgrade my smartphone instead of the tablet).

For a 17" you're gonna have to throw out a bit more money. This is the best I could come up with:

Really, anything with an Intel HD 4000 will game on low, but it will be sluggish when more things happen on-screen.
