Hello all, I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop for £1000 for my girlfriend, no she doesn't want a desktop PC and I know you'd get more bang for buck but she's made her mind up.

It'll be used to play all types of games and new releases such as BF3, Dead Space 3, XCOM, WoW etc etc.

Some help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

There's really no point in upgrading the processor any higher than the 3630QM. The reason I recommended /that/ laptop is because I thought you wanted to stay under 1000. If you have a bit of extra money to spend, spend it in a way that'll get you a faster GPU. A faster GPU is where you'll see the real improvements in game performance, not a faster CPU.

Or, if you want 17.3": http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/vortexIII-17/ (note that the stock GPU option is lower, but all of the Vorted III 15's GPUs are available as upgrades in the Vortex III 17)

Thanks for the reply, I can go up to about £1150.

Which of those CPU's would you recommend? The i7 DC or QC?

EDIT:

These specs for £1137. What do you think?
