I'm looking to buy a refurbished laptop. Would I have to worry about the CPU slowing down, or the laptop being slower in general compared to a new version. Are there any other things to worry about beside possible cosmetic damage. Its from newegg

that is a pretty good deal, usually Asus has good refurbished laptops when it comes to the gaming machines, you won't find a laptop in that price range with that amount of power as far as value goes. I myself was considering to buy the same laptop refurbished, it was $650 a few days ago on newegg, but i managed to find a refurbished y500 for 700. build quality is usually pretty good on those asus models, if you are in the market for a gaming laptop that gets decent battery life when not gaming, that is a good compromise...

Shouldn't, would suggest running Prime or something on it to stress it and make sure the refurbing was done well so it can be returned/exchanged within the 15 or 30 day period...have had a lot of folks pick up good deals on refurbs, so sure i'd try one

I have really never had an issue with a CPU/GPU/RAM on a refurbished product slowing a system down, all i buy is refurbished products usually, my main concern usually is a hard drive that isn't corrupt, damaged ports, damaged screen (dead pixels), damaged keyboard. These are issues that i have found to be the most prevalent in refurbished laptops. regardless of new or refurbished, the laptop will usually be slow at first because of bloatware, once uninstalled, everything should work in a normal fashion with updated drivers. also be sure to read the return/exchange policy and whether it is seller or manufacture refurbish.

I bought a refurbished Asus 15" gaming laptop a few years ago. Main hardware was fine(CPU, GPU, HDD, ODD..ect), but the plastic casing/body was junk. It always made these creaking noises when I lifted it from the bottom (when the case was flexing) and also it made a plastic popping noise when I touched the screen in a certain spot. After about 6 months there was a problem with the audio card and it would only play audio through the on board speakers, it wouldn't recognize anything in the headphone jack. There was nothing I could do because the warranty was only for 30 days. Just my experience.

This is the laptop I'm thinking of buying refurbished. It has a 30 day exchange, no returns. It also has 90 day warranty from the manufacture. DO you guys think its a good deal? The reviews have been good.
